YMCA Celebrates 10 Year Partnership with Kieran’s Kovers Blanket Drive

For the tenth year, the YMCA of Greater Nashua is helping high school student Kieran Hummer collect new and gently used blankets. So far through his YMCA blanket drive, we have collected nearly 2000 blankets, hats, socks, gloves, and mittens. All blankets collected go to the Nashua Soup Kitchen. Additionally, his family takes some to New York City and distributes them at The Coalition for the Homeless.

Kieran’s Kovers was started by Kieran Hummer when he was in first grade. It began at Bicentennial Elementary School the first year, then he expanded to the Nashua and Merrimack YMCA’s the following year, where he gets a good portion of his yearly donations.

If you can help with the blanket drive, please bring a blanket (or a few!) to the large collection boxes located in the YMCA lobbies in Nashua (24 Stadium Drive), Merrimack (5 Henry Clay Drive), or the Westwood Park YMCA (90 Northwest Blvd.) donations of winter hats, socks, gloves and mittens are also accepted. This drive will run now through December. (This year the drive is not accepting comforters or used coats.)

If you have any questions, please contact Marion Hummer goodpennstgirl@yahoo.com or by calling 603-577-1910.
