• Maloney's shutout leads Kingswood to second straight Division II softball crown (unionleader.com) — Plymouth High’s softball team capped a huge turnaround season by reaching the Division II championship game, where they were held to three hits in a 3-0 loss to Kingswood. Despite falling short, the Bobcats’ first tournament appearance in five years and upset of top-seeded Oyster River signal a strong resurgence for Plymouth softball.

• Ayotte vetoes bill to expand cultivation of medicinal marijuana (newsfromthestates.com) — Plymouth’s medical marijuana patients won’t see expanded local cultivation anytime soon, after Gov. Kelly Ayotte vetoed a bill that would have allowed dispensaries, including Plymouth’s, to grow cannabis in on-site greenhouses. The veto keeps New Hampshire’s tightly limited medical system in place while lawmakers consider a possible override vote later this year.
