'48 Hours' to Air 'Lizzi' Marriott Murder Segment

The CBS television series will feature aspects of the case on Saturday.

The horrifying murder of a Massachusetts college student in New Hampshire more than two years ago will be featured on the CBS-TV series “48 Hours” on Saturday night, according to Foster’s Daily Democrat.

Seth Mazzaglia of Dover strangled Elizabeth “Lizzi” Marriott, 19, a UNH marine biology student from Westborough, MA, to death in October 2012.

Mazzaglia’s girlfriend, Kathryn McDonough, lured Marriott to their apartment where he raped her. After strangling the teen, the pair stuffed her in a suitcase and threw if off a cliff on Peirce Island in Portsmouth. Marriott’s body was never recovered. Both Mazzaglia and McDonough were convicted in the case.

Rod Doherty, the former executive editor of Foster’s and a member of the New Hampshire Press Association, is featured in the segment, according to the report.

The program will air locally at 10 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 14, on WBZ-TV.
