- Deck-Side Dining. No summer is complete without a visit to the Bow Street Decks. Grab a bite to eat or sip on a summery cocktail as the tugboats roll in. Most of the deck restaurants have happy hour specials, and street parking is free after 7 pm. If you don’t want to compete for parking spots, check out the free shuttle.
- Events Calendar. PortsmouthNH.com has a pretty extensive events calendar that will keep you in the loop for major events in and around the Portsmouth area. Highlights for this month include Shrek the Musical, live music performances, Taste of the Nation, and the start of Summer in the Street.
- Pro Portsmouth. Speaking of Summer in the Street, have you been following Pro Portsmouth? This non-profit organization is responsible for some of Portsmouth’s most iconic events, including Market Square Day, Summer in the Street, and First Night Portsmouth. Head to their website for up to date information about event dates and times, or to donate/volunteer.
- Prescott Park. If you are visiting Portsmouth, or just looking for a pleasant way to spend a day or lunch break, Prescott Park is a must. During the summer, Prescott is abloom with beautifully prepared flower gardens, live performances at the Prescott Park Arts Festival, and fresh squeezed lemonade. - Annual Events. Art walks, food festivals, holiday celebrations, and road races! Check this list for some of the events you can expect to see every year.
