Bank Robber Gets 33 Months in Prison

Todd Elliott, 22, of Somersworth, was sentenced in the United States District Court for the District of New Hampshire on one count of bank robbery, according Acting United States Attorney Donald Feith.

Elliot pled guilty to the crime in July and the court imposed a term of 33 months imprisonment, three years of supervised release and full restitution to the victim bank, according to a press statement.

Elliott walked into a Citizens Bank in Somersworth, on Nov. 10, 2014, and gave the teller a note demanding money. The teller gave Elliott a quantity of United States Currency as well as a dye pack resembling a stack of bills. As Elliott ran from the bank, the dye pack exploded which led to his apprehension shortly thereafter.

This case was investigated by the Somersworth Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Georgiana L. Konesky
