BG's Boathouse Opens for the Season on March 19

Restaurant, marina celebrates 38 years in business.

Despite the long, snowy winter, the opening of BG’s on March 19, is a sure sign that spring has arrived on the Seacoast.

This year marks the 38th Anniversary for family-owned BG’s Boathouse Restaurant & Marina, according to a press statement. The restaurant, and the family, hold a unique place in Portsmouth’s local history. BG’s Boathouse was founded in 1978 by Bruce and Joanne Graves. Bruce Graves, who was also known as ‘BG,’ served on the Portsmouth City Council beginning in 1971; he was elected mayor in 1973 after which he served two terms.

Now owned by their son, Jeff Graves and his wife Lori, the family is proud to have upheld the same commitment to serving the finest seafood to seacoast locals and visitors to the area. As they open for their 38th season, the Graves’ family looks forward to serving up another great season to loyal fans and customers.
