Portsmouth, NH- The Portsmouth Symphony Orchestra (PSO) - who just kicked off their 16th season on Sunday, November 3rd at their home on the Seacoast, the historic Music Hall - has signed on as the recipient of Boldwerks’ Goodwerks program. The Goodwerks program is Boldwerks way of giving back to the community by offering up marketing services to a non-profit who both engages and inspires the local community around them. Outlined in this effort is the task to bolster the PSO’s visibility among the community by executing on an ongoing multi-platform public relations campaign.

Boldwerks has agreed to cultivate collateral in the way of social media management, press release engagement, production of a quarterly informative newsletter, and written PSO led features that will be hosted on the organization’s webpage in their blog which Boldwerks is building out.

“We are grateful that Boldwerks has chosen to support the Portsmouth Symphony Orchestra as part of their Goodwerks initiative,” said PSO President, David Young. “From the moment we were introduced it was clear that they understood our vision and mission and that we shared a common passion for the importance of music in our community. As an organization run entirely by volunteers we often face significant constraints of time and resources. The fact that a company such as Boldwerks is willing to lend their considerable expertise makes a huge impact to our operations and allows us to focus on what we do best - music. We are very excited to be working with Boldwerks to help deepen our connection with the community and raise awareness about our mission.”

The first task in line is the general awareness of the PSO’s upcoming annual holiday concerts, which are taking place on December 18th and 19th at the Music Hall. In years past, the Orchestra has performed only one of these concerts, but due to overwhelming demand they’ve added a second to the schedule for 2013. The performance on the 18th will include the Sandpipers Children’s Chorus, while the 19th will showcase the York High School Chamber Singers.

"As Music Director of the Portsmouth Symphony I am keenly aware of the need for awareness of what we do and what we're about in the Seacoast area and beyond,” said John Page. “Partnering with Boldwerks has assured us of a sustained and customized publicity strategy that will continue to tell our story in an exciting, interactive way. I look forward to seeing the Portsmouth Symphony continue to reach out to our community and further afield through this important collaboration.”

“I’m elated to be working with the Portsmouth Symphony Orchestra,” said Boldwerks Content Director, Chris Hislop. “The idea is to produce content that is as engaging and inspiring as the PSO itself. To tell their story as a holistic entity, as well as break out the individual pieces that make up the collective whole… There are so many fascinating stories to tell. What we’re looking to do is create an awareness and demand amongst music lovers not only in Portsmouth, but throughout the region, and eventually, worldwide. That’s the ultimate goal. And we’ll get there.”
