UPDATE: Bomb Threat Reported at Portsmouth High School
Police: Threat at school was a hoax; the school has been evacuated but now students are back in classes.

PORTSMOUTH, NH - The Portsmouth Police Department, according to a note on Facebook, is currently dealing with a bomb threat at the high school at just after 11:45 a.m. on May 23, 2016. The high school has been evacuated until this issue is resolved, according to the alert.
"Please refrain from going to the area of the high school to allow emergency services to handle the situation," the noted stated. "There is a very strong likelihood that this incident is non-credible in nature but we will handle this per our protocols."
The police thanked residents for their cooperation.

At just after 12:05 p.m., police updated residents and the media stating that the bomb was a hoax.
"No 'bomb' was ever located," according to the alert. "Portsmouth High School has been cleared and the students are being allowed back in the building."

The department again thanked residents for assisting during the threat alert.
