Bedrock Gardens presents
the Botanical Artisan Fair:
A Fall Festival of Garden-Related Arts and Crafts,
a day long event bringing
together artists and makers whose work is inspired by plants,
gardens, and the natural world.
The fair will
feature a curated collection of fine art and handcrafted goods,
including botanical artwork, fiber arts, baskets, handmade brooms,
blown glass flowers, botanical body care, and other garden-inspired
creations. Visitors will have an opportunity to meet the artists,
learn about their work, and find something special to take home.
Throughout the day,
artisans will demonstrate traditional and garden-related skills,
including wreath making, natural dyeing, seed saving and traditional
garden crafts. The
demonstrations offer visitors a chance to see how these beautiful and
useful objects are made and to talk directly with the people who
practice these crafts.
Featured artists
include Kerry Michaels,
Diane Stradling, Corey Slater of Slater Basketry, Bryan Cassidy of
Crommet Creek, Janee Marie Lavender Creative, Haidee Soule Merritt,
Donna Blumenthal, Carolyn
Maul, John Forti, and
Alison Magill.
The fair will also
feature Aislinn Hird,
Bedrock Gardens' 2026 Artist-in-Residence,
who will be exhibiting work inspired by the gardens and sharing her
experience as artist-in-residence.
The Botanical
Artisan Fair is included with admission to Bedrock Gardens. Admission
is free for members and $15 for the public.
No advance registration is required; visitors may purchase admission
or show their membership card at the garden entrance kiosk.

Seacoast Science Center will host its 24th annual BioBlitz on Sunday, September 20, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Odiorne Point State Park in Rye. The day-long community science event brings scientists, naturalists, students, families and nature enthusiasts together to explore the park and document as many species as possible.
Participants will search a variety of habitats across Odiorne Point’s 135-acre coastal campus, including rocky shores, tide pools, forests, fields and wetlands. Along the way, they’ll learn how species are connected, how scientists monitor biodiversity, and why healthy coastal habitats are important to conservation and climate resilience.
Since the first BioBlitz in 2003, participants and scientists have identified more than 2,400 species at Odiorne Point. The resulting catalog provides a valuable snapshot of the park’s biodiversity and helps demonstrate the variety of life found within this coastal ecosystem.
For those who prefer to explore from a home base, the Gregg Interactive Learning Studio will serve as BioBlitz headquarters and a field laboratory throughout the day. Visitors can observe insects and other tiny organisms under microscopes, examine seaweeds and fungi, view images from past BioBlitz discoveries, learn about species identification, and connect with participating scientists and naturalists.
BioBlitz also emphasizes responsible exploration. Participants will be encouraged to bring refillable water bottles and reusable containers for food and snacks as part of the Center’s commitment to making the event zero waste. Team leaders will review responsible field practices, and any specimens collected for observation and identification will be returned to their habitats.
“BioBlitz is a wonderful opportunity for people of all ages to experience science in action,” said Community Program Naturalist Katie Brodeur. “You don’t have to be a scientist or naturalist to participate. It’s about getting outside, paying attention to the world around us, asking questions and discovering how much life is right here in our own community.”
Whether experienced in nature observation or simply curious about the natural world, participants are invited to join this annual effort to explore and document the biodiversity of Odiorne Point.

Ever thought about trying stand-up comedy? Now’s your chance to stop thinking about it and get onstage!
Join professional comedian and Boston Comedy Festival founder Jim McCue for a six-week, hands-on stand-up comedy experience at McCue’s Comedy Club in Portsmouth, NH.
Whether you’ve always wanted to try comedy, want to become more comfortable speaking in front of people, or already have some material you’d like to improve, this class is designed to help you find your funny and develop your own comedic voice.
From the very first class, students will get onstage. Over five weeks, we’ll work on finding material, writing and rewriting jokes, setups and punchlines, timing, delivery, stage presence, building a set, and connecting with an audience. We’ll also touch on audience interaction, thinking on your feet, and what to do when things don’t go exactly as planned.
And then we put it all to the test.

Hailed as “A world-class virtuoso” and “an expert at defining darks, lights, shadows and colors,” Bradley Hunter Welch serves Resident Organist of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. 
Dr Welch holds the Doctor of Musical Arts, Master of Musical Arts, Master of Music degrees, and the Artist Diploma from Yale University He also holds the Bachelor of Music degree magna cum laude from Baylor University where he studied with the legendary Dr. Joyce Jones.

New York City comes to New Hampshire this November when Nona’s Supper Club, a hilarious, heartfelt, and highly interactive new musical, makes its New Hampshire debut at the historic Flying Monkey Movie House &amp; Performance Center in Plymouth.
With only three performances - Saturday, November 21 at 2 PM and 7 PM, and Sunday, November 22 at 2 PM audiences are invited to step into the world of the Abalafia family and become part of the action as their story unfolds.

Nona’s Supper Club is a comedic, campy new musical about a New York City family-owned restaurant on the brink of disaster. At the center of the story is Twyla, a determined grandchild who is trying to convince their grandmother, Millie “Nona” Abalafia, to retire and save the family business. But what begins as a seemingly straightforward plan quickly becomes complicated by long-buried secrets, romantic entanglements, family rivalries, and one very questionable chef.
The audience are invited guests at the family’s reopening celebration, interacting directly with the characters and becoming part of the evening as the family’s carefully constructed plans begin to unravel.
Rather than simply watching from the sidelines, audience members have opportunities to engage with the characters and influence the energy of the evening. The result is a lively, spontaneous theatrical experience where every performance has the potential to be a little different.
Featuring an electrifying original score ranging from infectious pop anthems to show-stopping ballads, Nona’s Supper Club is a joyous and heartfelt musical about family, identity, love, memory, and how far we’ll go to save the people — and the places — we call home.
