Bigfoot Monster Truck to Visit Sullivan Tire Portsmouth Location

Attention, monster truck fans: Bigfoot, the original monster truck, will be on display at Sullivan Tire and Auto Service’s location at 2909 Lafayette Road in Portsmouth on Saturday, August 23, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Photo opportunities with the 10,000-pound Bigfoot will be available, along with Bigfoot swag and Sullivan Tire swag while supplies last. In addition, a remote-controlled scale replica of Bigfoot worth $350 will be given away to a lucky winner of a drawing.

“We are thrilled to bring the iconic Bigfoot truck to some of our locations as part of our ongoing 70^th Anniversary celebrations this year. Along with Sullivan Tire’s anniversary, this year marks the 50^th anniversary of the creation of the original Bigfoot by Bob Chandler, who modified a 1974 Ford F-250 four-wheel-drive pickup truck beginning in 1975. By 1979, the modifications were so extensive, the truck came to be regarded as the first monster truck. Sponsored by Firestone, today’s Bigfoot is the latest generation of this legendary vehicle.
