Haley Art Gallery will host a community conversation on “Why Gaza Matters” on Saturday, October 25, 3-5 pm. The conversation will be moderated by Portsmouth-based global citizen and advocate for our common humanity, Karina Quintans. Space is limited. Registration is required via email haleygallery@comcast.net.

“There's a reason Palestinian rights activists say that Gaza is the litmus test of our time--because the future of humanity will be defined by how we choose to act today,” says Karina Quintans, a content writer and a documentary photographer, who was born in Massachusetts to Filipino immigrants and lived in Saudi Arabia, Venezuela, and Italy.

The community conversation gathering provides space for an important, open discussion, welcoming attendees to join the conversation regardless of their views. It also hopes to build a shared understanding of why Americans should consider foreign policy as an important voting issue, with the U.S. military budget having reached $1 trillion, and while billions of dollars in weapons are sent, unconditionally, to Israel as it carries out widespread human rights violations in Gaza, while many Americans struggle financially at home.
