Candidates Attend Transparency Rally

Council and Police Commission Candidates for City Election 2015 attend rally for Ethics and Transparency in government.

Police Commission Candidates Joe Plaia and Joe Onosco join City Council Candidates Rick Beckstead, Duncan MacCallum, Jim Splaine, Esther Kennedy and Jack Thorsen at a citizens rally for transparency in government.

A group of concerned citizens held a rally for full disclosure and transparency in government on Sunday, in Market Square. The rally was attended by 2 of 7 Police Commission candidates and 5 of 16 Council candidates, featured in photo along with Mark Brighton, one of the rally’s organizers.

Rally participants cited concerns about disclosure requirements falling short of those required by the charter, behind closed door meetings at city hall, and citizens’ abilities to access the “peoples’ business” as required by right to know laws.
