Car Fire Investigation Being Treated As Arson Case

Newmarket Police are asking for the public's help finding a small, silver, compact vehicle that was reportedly spotted Sunday morning.

NEWMARKET, NH — Police in nearby Newmarket are asking for the public’s help with an arson case involving an SUV that was set on fire on Sunday morning. According to a report on Facebook, at around 1 a.m. on Nov. 26, 2017, Newmarket Fire and Rescue teams as well as police were sent to Langs Lane for a report of a vehicle fire. The complainant reported that he heard his dogs barking at the window and when he looked outside, saw his 2015 Ford Expedition on fire.

“The caller exited his residence and immediately heard a car door shut and noticed a small silver car parked at the end of his driveway,” the report noted. “The silver car sped off at a high rate of speed traveling towards Wadleigh Falls Road.”

The SUV is a total loss, according to investigators.

The incident is being investigated as an arson case. Police are asking for the public’s help identifying the silver compact vehicle that was seen speeding away from the incident.
