City Man Charged With Trying to Steal Beer

Police say Daniel Williams had a no trespassing order against him to stay away from Redhook Ale Brewery.

Redhook Fest typically attracts thousands of Seacoast area residents to annual birthday celebration and it also attracts some people who are not supposed to be there.

Such was the case when Portsmouth Police arrested a Portsmouth man there on Saturday around 8 p.m. who had a no trespassing order against him to stay away from the Pease brewery.

According to the Portsmouth Police log, police charged Daniel J. Williams, 50, address unknown, in Portsmouth with criminal trespass and one count of theft by unauthorized taking. Police say Williams tried to steal a few beers while at the event.

Besides Williams' arrest, police reported very few issues at the 15th annual Redhook Fest.
