Police: Islington Street is Now Open
UPDATE: Single vehicle rollover reported with a utility pole down; numerous customers without power; restoration expected by 3 p.m.

PORTSMOUTH, NH - Portsmouth Police are asking residents to avoid the upper area of Islington Street due to a motor vehicle accident, according to alerts. According to the report, the accident caused a pole to come down near Vine Street.
The accident occurred around 12:50 p.m. on Jan. 19, 2016, according to Portsmouth Fire and Rescue teams.
Crews will be working to restore it, police noted on Twitter.

According to other alerts, the vehicle rolled over and one person is trapped inside.
Eversource reported online that about eight customers are without power. The company hopes to have power restored by 3 p.m.

At around 7:15 p.m., police reported on Twitter that the street was back open.
