Crawford Receives Humanitarian Award
Crawford and his wife have been doing humanitarian work in several countries for more than two decades.

Dr. Glen Crawford, of Atlantic Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine was recently honored with the prestigious Humanitarian Award, presented by President Robert Heaps of the New Hampshire Orthopaedic Society, according to a press statement.
This award recognizes orthopedic surgeons in the state who have distinguished themselves through outstanding musculoskeletal care and community service in New Hampshire and/or abroad. The NHOS also made a contribution to Health Volunteers Overseas in honor of Dr. Crawford.
Dr. Crawford has traveled extensively doing humanitarian work in several countries. He and his wife, Suzanne Abkowitz Crawford, MD, have been active with Health Volunteers Overseas for over 20 years, and have organized the collection and shipment of used medical equipment to hospitals in Haiti and other countries in need. Dr. Crawford was awarded the Volunteer Surgeon of the Year Award in 2003 for his volunteer work in Africa, where he began a teaching program for African physicians. He is board-certified in orthopaedic surgery and sports medicine, and also specializes in arthroscopic surgery and joint replacement, arthritis treatment, and trauma and sports injuries.

In receiving the Humanitarian Award, Dr. Crawford joins colleague Dr. Charles Blitzer of Seacoast Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, who was honored with the award in November of 2012.
