Dover Man Arrested On Habitual Offender Charge: Portsmouth Log

PORTSMOUTH, NH — Kevin N. Auguste, 32, of Sylvan Drive in Dover, was arrested on Sept. 16, 2019, on habitual offender and driving after revocation or suspension charges. At around midnight, an officer stopped a vehicle on the Route 1 Bypass South. The man reportedly exited the vehicle and was detained. After a check, the man was arrested.

10:54 on Sept. 15: A Gates Street resident filed a complaint about vehicles racing loudly in the area but he couldn't tell where they were coming from. Police deducted that the vehicles might be coming from Prescott Park. There, officers found a "highly customized" red Volkswagen that was making a noise similar to the one the man was complaining about. The operator of the vehicle was given a verbal warning about the city's noise ordinance.

8:38 p.m. on Sept. 15: An unattended death was reported on Woodbury Avenue.

6:24 p.m. on Sept. 14: Police were sent to a Lafayette Road establishment to investigate a complaint about a vehicle that was parked near a building with expired plates.

6:04 p.m. on Sept. 14: A dog complaint was filed on Broad Street after a dog ran out of a home and went after a family walking along the street. No one was injured.

5:06 p.m. on Sept. 14: On State Street, a white pickup truck reportedly sideswiped a parked vehicle. The driver went home and police caught up with him at home. The man, who was elderly, was confused, vomiting, and had a medical issue, according to the report.

4:28 p.m. on Sept. 14: A noise complaint was filed on High Street due to live music. The establishment had a permit and the officer stated that the music wasn't unreasonable.

4:07 p.m. on Sept. 14: Police investigated a criminal threatening issue – a woman texting another woman, threatening "to slice her throat and kidnap the kids." An emergency restraining order was granted.

11:01 a.m. on Sept. 14: A man yelling profanities was reported on Maplewood Avenue.
