Parenting: Raising Bilingual Children

RAISING BILINGUAL CHILDREN (flyer)
Thursday, June 14, 9:30-11 a.m.
It’s a common misconception that children will simply pick up languages if they’re exposed to them. Experts agree that it takes consistency, commitment and creative reinforcements, inside and outside the home, to keep children bilingual – but the rewards are worth it! Author Virginie Raguenaud, who is herself raising bilingual twin girls, will discuss the benefits of bilingualism, the cost of losing our native languages, and strategies to keep children bilingual even when they start school.

All parents and children are welcome at these programs. Advance signup is needed for child care; call (603) 422-8208 x2 or send an e-mail.
