Four Arrested for DWI at Sobriety Checkpoint in Portsmouth
More than 380 vehicles were also checked on the Spaulding Turnpike last night.

The New Hampshire State Police and other law enforcement officials held a sobriety checking point on the Spaulding Turnpike last night and arrested four for driving while intoxicated, according to a press statement.
- Nicole Foss, 34, of Dover, was arrested for DWI.
- Robert Gibbons, 23, of Worcester, MA, was arrested for DWI.
- Stephen Jones, 62, of Durham, was arrested for DWI.
- Angela McCarthy, 22, of Weymouth, MA, was arrested for DWI.

According to police, 384 vehicles were stopped and screened. Numerous warnings were also given. The checkpoint was held between 9 p.m. on June 26, 2015, until 3 a.m. on Saturday, June 27, as part of law enforcement’s efforts to crack down on drunk drivers.

“The New Hampshire State Police, Colonel Robert Quinn and the officers of (local police) departments consider the detection and apprehension of impaired drivers to be a top priority,” Sgt. Steve Callinan said in a statement. “They will continue to collaborate and utilize sobriety checkpoints and other means to deter, detect and remove impaired drivers from New Hampshire’s roadways.”
