Fresh Local to Close, Seeks Buyer
The owners want to focus their attention on other ventures.
The owners of Fresh Local Bayside in Newington have decided to close the restaurant after Labor Day and are looking to sell both the business and the bright orange Fresh Local food truck.
Michelle Lozuaway, co-owner of Fresh Local, said Fresh Local Bayside will be closing for good after Labor Day so the owners can concentrate on their other endeavors like Portsmouth restaurants STREET and . Fresh Local Bayside has operated at Great Bay Marina in Newington since 2009.
"We have loved being there and have wonderful, loyal customers, but we need to focus on STREET and then the next incarnation of our vision (TBA)," Lozuaway said via email Wednesday.

Ideally, she said the goal is to sell Fresh Local Bayside and the Fresh Local truck as a package deal. She said there is "tremendous goodwill" established with both, but it would probably take the city relaxing its rules on food trucks to make the truck a viable option again in Portsmouth.
Meanwhile, Lozuaway said The Station, which was originally envisioned as a seasonal restaurant, will stay open after Labor Day. She said the restaurant and beer garden has permission from the city to operate until Nov. 15. The days and hours of operation will be reduced once the summer is over, and she said it isn't clear yet when the last day will be.

"We'll see how many locals continue to frequent it now that school has started," she said.
