Great Bay Community College In Portsmouth To Host Culinary Workshops This Spring
Chef Jerome Picca will lead a series of culinary workshops at the college in March and April, covering topics from pasta to seafood.
PORTSMOUTH, NH — Great Bay Community College will offer a series of culinary workshops during the spring semester.
Chef Instructor Jerome Picca will teach these stand-alone workshops, which are scheduled for Thursdays in March and April. The workshops will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Each session will focus on a specific culinary specialty. The college stated these workshops are designed for individuals interested in cooking and entertaining.
Picca is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America. His experience includes working as a chef and owner, in catering, and in culinary management. He has also taught at the Culinary School of Washington, D.C., and appeared on the Food Network. Picca recently joined Great Bay Community College as a chef-instructor in the Culinary Arts & Sustainable Foodways program.

The workshop topics include Soups, Stocks & Sauces on March 5, Hors d'oeuvres on March 12, and Poultry and Egg Cookery on March 19. Other topics are Creative Meat: Vegetable & Grain Cookery on March 26, Homemade Pasta and Pasta Dinners on April 2, and Seafood Cookery at its Finest on April 9.
Further sessions include Basics of Bread Making on April 16 and Regions of France on April 30. Great Bay Community College will provide the necessary supplies for the workshops. These include knives, cutting boards, towels, aprons, kitchen supplies, and ingredients.
