Greenland Woman Charged with DWI After Crash

NHSP arrest Jessica Starkey after she drove over a median and into a snowbank.

A local woman was arrested earlier this morning after a crash on Route 16 in Rochester, according to New Hampshire State Police.

Jessica Starkey, 22, of Greenland, was arrested on March 25, 2015, and charged with felony reckless conduct and DWI.

According to police, troopers were sent to an area near Exit 12 on Route 16 in Rochester for a motor vehicle crash at about 2:45 a.m. this morning.

A Ford Ranger pickup traveling south was in the northbound lanes south of Exit 13.

“The driver, identified as Jessica Starkey, age 22, of Greenland, lost control of the vehicle and drove over the cement island that separates Route 16 south from the Exit 12 northbound on-ramp,” according to Trooper Matthew Amatucci. “The vehicle then rotated counter-clockwise and came to final rest facing north in a snowbank on the eastern side of the on-ramp. It does not appear that any other vehicles were involved, and there were no injuries reported at the scene.”

After an investigation into the crash, Starkey was taken into custody and charged. She was placed into protective custody and transported to the Strafford House of Corrections. Starkey is due in court on May 6.
