At just before 6 p.m. last night, state police began receiving reports about a pickup truck with Maine license plates traveling at a high rate of speed and having lane control problems on I-95 South in Portsmouth, according to Sgt. David Kane of the NHSP. The pickup truck also reportedly struck a guardrail along the way, according to the report.

The vehicle made its way onto Route 101 in Hampton and traveled west until a trooper caught up with the vehicle in Brentwood and alleged that it violated speed limits and was having lane issues.

“The vehicle did not stop for (the) trooper but accelerated in an apparent attempt to escape,” Kane alleged. (The) trooper followed the vehicle west on Route 101, attempting to stop it. Raymond Police were able to deploy stop sticks on Route 101 westbound in the area of Exit 4 and were able to deflate the front and rear tires on the driver’s side of the vehicle.”
