Man Fell From Middle Street Apartment Building: Portsmouth Police

Breaking: The death of Jared Reid on Friday is being deemed an untimely death due to blunt head trauma. Toxicology reports are pending.

PORTSMOUTH, NH — A death of a man who recently moved into a downtown apartment building in Portsmouth is being deemed an accidental, untimely death, due to a fall, according to police. Jared Reid, 32, of Middle Street in Portsmouth, died due to blunt head trauma, according to an autopsy. Portsmouth Fire and Rescue teams found the Reid’s on the sidewalk outside 134 Middle St. at just past 3 a.m. on Aug. 4, 2017, after returning from a call on Court Street, according to police.

“Through the department’s investigation it has been determined Reid had fallen from the rooftop of 134 Middle Street and there is no foul play involved,” according to Newport. “As part of the investigation an autopsy was conducted and the cause of death was determined to be blunt head trauma as the result of the fall. Toxicology reports are pending.”

The Portsmouth Police Department and the New Hampshire Office of the Medical Examiner are currently still investigating Reid’s untimely death.
