An old saying is that “Russia is never as strong as it appears and never as weak as it appears.” Either way, a hot war with Russia ain’t gonna be no Iraq or Afghanistan. Russia can really fight back, with sophisticated modern weaponry and tough soldiers – not to mention the support of the host country (which has an army and air force of its own). The Russians are also closer to the war zone, without an ocean to cross.
