McPherson: Fascism Isn't About One Party

The Demopublicans and the Republicrats hate your freedom.

Lest anyone think my loathing for the “progressive” worldview is about party, let me take a moment to comment on the GOP front runner, Donald Trump, and his own desire to march the country straightaway into fascism:

In an interview on Breitbart Radio, The Donald complained that because ISIS is using the Internet for recruitment, and because they’re ”playing [the Internet] better than we do,” the US government must become “a force on the Internet.”

How might this force (a force for good, naturally) be applied? “We have to take over the Internet,” he said.

Let’s ponder that for a moment.

To be fair, almost every time this man opens his mouth his brain falls out – a characteristic he shares with our current president – but when you’re talking about using executive power to “take over” something it’s understandable that people will sit up and take notice. Does The Donald want to be a leader, or a Dear Leader? He ought to clarify, and quick.

Oh, wait – we have our answer already: At a campaign stop in Iowa he told NBC News that he “absolutely” supports a “national database” to register all Muslims. How about a tattoo on the forearm?

It gets worse: “There should be a lot of systems, beyond databases,” he added. “We should have a lot of systems.” Concentration camps, maybe? Oh, sorry – he’ll call them “internment” camps.

At least Benito had the decency to shave his head.

Whether it’s a cackling harpy or a bloviated blowhard, members of both parties have embraced candidates who lust after power, to the detriment of our freedom. Let’s hope people wake up, and soon.
