River Poets Journal, a twice-yearly (with occasional special issues) collection of fiction and poetry, will be publishing my short story, “What Price, This Peace?” in their upcoming issue, to be released next month. (RPJ published my flash fiction story, “Feeding Time In Winter,” in their Reading Room last December. Flash fiction is typically 1,000 words or less. You can read that here.)
“What Price, This Peace?” is the story of Jimi Kenyatta, his brother Martin, and their mother Shamoan, a black family grappling with the issue of violence in the Deep South during the Civil Rights Era. I hope you buy a copy and support River Poets Journal (all proceeds go to the publisher), and I hope you like the story.
