Men Allegedly Used Stolen Wallet to Charge $20K in Gift Cards: Cops

PORTSMOUTH, NH - The Portsmouth Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying two men who are suspects of an alleged theft of a wallet (containing credit cards) which occurred at the Bed and Bath store located on Durgin Lane in Portsmouth on Feb. 28, 2016. The alleged theft occurred around 6 p.m.
The male wearing the fedora hat reportedly distracted the victim, while the other male allegedly stole the wallet out of her purse.
The suspects reportedly used the stolen credit cards to make purchases at several Target stores located in Greenland, Methuen, Haverhill, and Wilmington, MA, to purchase gift cards totaling about $20,000, according to police.
