Music Hall Kitchen Tour Held May 9

Check out some amazing, versatile kitchens around the Seacoast.

One of the Seacoast’s most anticipated springtime pleasures returns May 9, as the 24th annual Music Hall Kitchen Tour arrives in beautiful Kittery Point, according to a press statement.

The tour, a popular peek into some of the area’s most interesting and well-designed kitchens, is the longest running Kitchen Tour in New England. This year the tour takes place on Mother’s Day weekend. Tickets make the perfect gift.

With nine unique homes featured on this year’s tour, tour goers will get to see a range of designs and amenities and have the opportunity to meet with the architects and craftsmen who made these dream kitchens a reality. Features of these spectacular homes include:

  • A compact kitchen that’s huge on unique design and historical significance.
  • A home whose spaces all are guided by Feng Shui – wind and water.
  • A large and whimsical kitchen that was created by opening it up to the dining and living areas with structural beams overhead and stylish design throughout.
  • An avid cook’s kitchen that focuses on function, space, and light.
  • A fabulous 19th Century Seaside home renovated with updates galore while still keeping its 1800s charm.
  • A home where walls were knocked down to let nature in through the eight-foot windows and a kitchen overseen by two “Kitchen Gods.’’
  • A renovated home where the owners decided to keep the original kitchen even as they added a huge new second one – two wonderful kitchens on this stop of the tour!
  • A home peering out to the Atlantic with a kitchen that provides its own terrific view on the inside.
  • A kitchen whose island is a substantial and welcoming gathering place for guests and cooks alike.

That last home belongs to Ann Kendall, co-chair of this year’s event. “It is truly amazing that there are so many wonderful choices every year,’’ Kendall said. “And now that we are using trolleys, we can include homes that were unavailable to us in the past.’’

The trolley service has been expanded this year to efficiently shuffle everyone on the Kitchen Tour from home to beautiful home.
