New Beer Garden Style Restaurant Open for Business
The Station held its soft opening on Thursday.

UPDATE, JUNE 29: Michelle Lozuaway, co-owner of The Station, said Thursday's soft opening went very well.
"Today was lovely," Lozuaway said Thursday night. "In between a few showers, we fed some people a bunch of different sausages, a few salads and more than a couple Cemitas (a type of Mexican sandwich)."
She said she is working on getting the restaurant's trade name registered, and the official name will probably wind up being "Biergarten Restaurant & Station." Before the name can be changed, though, the paperwork on file with the city would have to be amended.

Lozuaway said she is still hopeful that the restaurant's license to serve beer and wine will be approved on Friday.

, the new seasonal restaurant across from the old Rosa, is set to open at noon on Thursday, co-owner Michelle Lozuaway said today.
Lozuaway, who also co-owns Fresh Local and STREET, said the restaurant's soft opening will be at noon. It will be BYOB until Friday night, as the establishment is still waiting on its license. It will also be cash only for about a week, until the credit card line can be installed by the phone company.
After Thursday, The Station's regular hours will be 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Lozuaway said.
The Station is located at 80 Wright Avenue, just off State Street next to the Connie Bean Center. The building has been vacant in recent years, but formerly served as the Rosa's takeout site and before that, a gas station.
Lozuaway has said the menu at The Station will be similar to STREET, with additional picnic style offerings like lobster rolls, chowder, fried chicken and burgers.
