New Portsmouth Rite Aid Holds Grand Opening

A new Rite Aid in Yoken's Plaza on Lafayette Road recently opened to customers.

There are two more Rite Aids in Portsmouth—one on Woodbury Avenue and one on Islington Street.

The new Rite Aid has a drive-through pharmacy.

A Five Guys Burgers and Fries and a Newburyport Five Cents Savings Bank are also being built at Yoken's Plaza.

Rite Aid is planning a series of welcome events in order to introduce Portsmouth, N.H., residents to their new Rite Aid "Wellness Store," which opened recently and features expanded pharmacy services and hours, an enhanced selection of wellness products, increased staffing for customer service, and advanced clinical services including a private pharmacist consultation room. Company officials will cut the ribbon formally unveiling the store on Thursday, Sept. 5 at 10 a.m.

At 4 p.m. also on Thursday, Sept. 5, a red carpet event will be held with food and beverages including samples of organic, gluten-free or natural food products that are now regularly available at the new store. Customers can also pick up other product samples and coupons.

Then, on Sept. 28, the new Wellness Store will host free health screenings from noon to 4 p.m. including a diabetes risk assessment, blood glucose testing, A1C testing to determine average blood glucose over the last three months and screenings for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).
