Newmarket Man Arrested in Heroin OD Case

Portsmouth Police: Benjamin Rogers deleted text messages between himself and a woman who died.

A local man is facing one charge and could be facing another after allegedly being involved with a woman who was found dead of a heroin overdose last month.

Benjamin Rogers, 29, of South Main Street in Newmarket, was arrested on Nov. 4, and charged with falsifying physical evidence.

According to Portsmouth Police, Cassandra Clermont was found dead of a heroin overdose on Oct. 18, in her apartment on Ledgewood Drive. Police allege that Rogers sold her the heroin that she used the day of the overdose. He then allegedly deleted text messages from his phone between himself and Clermont.
