Portsmouth Police Investigating Possible Heroin Overdose
Cassandra Clermont was pronounced dead on Oct. 18.

The Portsmouth Police Department is asking for the public’s help in a suspicious death investigation, a heroin overdose, during the weekend.
According to a press statement, Cassandra Clermont, 30, was found dead in the Winchester Place Apartments after Portsmouth Fire and Rescue teams and police were called to the building for a reported drug overdose at around 6 p.m. on Oct. 18, 2014.
Clermont, according to the Medical Examiner’s Office and police, is suspected of dying of a heroin overdose, according to Capt. Mike Schwartz of the Portsmouth Police Department.

Lab tests are still pending, he noted.
Detectives, however, are asking for the public to reach out to the department with any information that it might have concerning Clermont and this case.
