Man Charged with DWI After Crash
The following arrest information was supplied by the Portsmouth Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

The following is an excerpt from the Portsmouth Police log from Monday, Aug. 8.
Monday:
- At 6:43 a.m., police investigated a loitering complaint on Thornton Street. A caller said a male subject was sitting on a front porch of a home where the owners were away in San Francisco. When police officers arrived, the male subject had already left the premises.
- At 11:51 a.m., police arrested South Berwick, Maine woman who was wanted as a fugitive from justice after she was detained by Somersworth Police. Katherine Bayer, 19, of 30 Norton St., Apt. C in South Berwick, Maine, was wanted on a theft charge.
- At 4:03 p.m., police reported a fight inside a Rockland Street apartment building between two subjects.
- At 4:50 p.m., police reported there were two bunnies in distress in a car parked on Parrott Avenue. The outside temperature was 80 degrees and the temperature inside the vehicle was 111 degrees. Police spoke with the vehicle's owner.
- At 6:52 p.m., police reported the theft of a license plate on Lafayette Road.
- At 7:07 p.m., police arrested a North Hampton man for drunken driving after he was involved in a two-car accident on Ledgewood Drive. Charles Yankowy, 49, of 8 Stevens Road in North Hampton was charged with driving while intoxicated, second offense, and transporting alcoholic beverages.
- At 10:55 p.m., police responded to a domestic disturbance on Winsor Road where the caller said there were 20 people fighting. They arrested Jamie Cahill, 29, of 100 Ledgewood Drive, Apt. 3, in Portsmouth and charged the subject with simple assault, criminal mischief (vandalism), and criminal threatening (intimidation).
