Parade Cancelled; Tree Lighting Held Sunday
Portsmouth Mayor Lister: Weather caused changes.

The City’s 2014 annual illuminated Holiday Parade scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 6, has been cancelled due to the national weather forecast.
In lieu of the parade, the Mayor is announcing that a ceremony to light the Holiday Tree in Market Square will take place on Sunday, Dec. 7, with music from Portsmouth School Musicians beginning at 5 p.m. and the tree lighting at 5:30 p.m.
“Santa will be making an appearance at the tree lighting ceremony. Also, collection boxes will be available for anyone who would like to bring non-perishable goods for donations to local food pantries,” said Mayor Lister.
