Pedestrian Struck by SUV on Lafayette Road

The following is an excerpt from the Portsmouth Police log from Sunday, Dec. 11.

Sunday:

  • At 11:14 a.m., police reported a theft on Woodbury Avenue after the caller said a female had his cell phone and was sending nasty text messages to his friends.
  • At 1:57 p.m., police arrested a Portsmouth woman who was wanted as a fugitive from justice after she turned herself in at the Portsmouth Police Station. Cherise Barry, 27, of 17 Winchester St. in Portsmouth was wanted for theft.
  • At 6:50 p.m., police reported a car versus a pedestrian accident on Lafayette Road that police described as a possible suicide attempt. The male subject was transported to Portsmouth Regional Hospital by Portsmouth Fire and Rescue.
  • At 2:48 p.m., police reported criminal mischief on Islington Street after the caller said two sections of fence were knocked down.
