Podcast: Roger Wood On The Woes Of NH Dairy Farms
Portsmouth journalist talked with Ed Maltby, a dairy farmer and executive director of the Northeast organic dairy producers association.

New Hampshire dairy farms could be at the brink of extinction, the result of the consolidation of production in the Midwest. The small producers in New England and New York have lost a major contract that would allow smaller farms to stay productive. Podcast producer Roger Wood talked with Ed Maltby. He is a dairy farmer and executive director of the Northeast organic dairy producers association. He talks about CAFOS, concentrated animal feeding operations as a major factor.
Ed Maltby, Executive Director of the Northeast Organic Dairy Producers Alliance, is a producer with over 50 years of experience managing the conventional and organic dairy, beef, sheep, and vegetable enterprises on a variety of different farms in Europe and the United States.
