Police Arrest Three Women for Prostitution

Two women from Rochester and one woman from Nashua charged in undercover sting.

Portsmouth Police arrested three women on Tuesday for prostitution who were operating in the Portsmouth area out of hotel rooms.

Portsmouth Police Lt. Michael Maloney of the detectives division said police worked with the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Department to go undercover to make the arrests after seeing Internet advertisements.

Melissa St. Hilaire, 30, of 4 Checkerberry Court in Rochester was charged with a misdemeanor of prostitution and a felony of possession of a controlled drug. Police said St. Hilaire was released on $3,000 personal recognizance bail.

Lisa Mayhew, 33, of 31 Hawkstead Hollow in Nashua was also charged with a misdemeanor of prostitution. Police said she was released on $2,000 personal recognizance bail.

Lisa Thurber, 33, of 8A Fairview Ave. in Rochester was charged with a misdemeanor of prostitution and operating without a valid license. She was released on $1,000 personal recognizance bail. All three women will be arraigned in Portsmouth Circuit Court on April 2, according to police.

Maloney said the Portsmouth Police Department will continue to take a proactive approach in arresting those participating in Prostitution and related crimes in the City.
