A Coyote Sighting, A Bar Fight, and A Police Chase

Portsmouth Police supplied the following arrest information.

The following is an excerpt from the Portsmouth Police log from Friday, May 4 through Sunday, May 6. It does not indicate a conviction.

Friday:

  • At 4 p.m., police arrested Joseph Ford, 19, of 76 Pine St., Apt. 5, Rochester, and charged him with driving after revocation or suspension and suspended registration.
  • At 5:05 p.m., a caller reported finding a dog with no tags on Melbourne Street.
  • At 8:30 p.m., police received a report of a coyote running up the road on Woodbury Avenue toward Market Street.

  • At 1:24 a.m., police arrested Jepheth A. Burrell, 45, of 5 Northway Circle, Apt. 9, Dover, and charged him with simple assault following a domestic dispute.
  • At 1:28 p.m., the U.S. Coast Guard called to report a possible jumper on the Interstate 95 bridge. State police responded and determined that it was not a jumper, just a disabled motor vehicle.
  • 3:04 p.m., police received a report of a motor vehicle accident on Lafayette Road in the area of Lang Road, with minor injury.
  • At 5:48 p.m., a caller reported that their vehicle was hit while parked on Marjorie Street.
  • At 11:53 p.m., police responded to a report of a fight involving four men near the decks on Bow Street. The men had knocked over a planter and some other items. Police were able to separate the four men, and no one was arrested.

Sunday:

  • At 12:22 a.m., police responded to a report of three people breaking into cars in a Gosling Road parking lot.
  • At 12:23 a.m., police arrested Christopher Boilard, 28, of 12 School St., Farmington and charged him with resisting arrest or detention, sale of controlled/narcotic drugs, two counts of criminal mischief (vandalism), criminal threatening, and possession of controlled/narcotic drugs. Boilard had allegedly been smashing car windows on Hanover Street and stealing items from the vehicles. He led police on a foot chase, and upon being caught was found to be in possession of 57 items.
  • At 12:35 a.m., police received a report of an 18-year-old who was passed out in the middle of the road at Harbour Place. The caller dragged the teen to the sidewalk and then left the area. The teen was determined to be intoxicated and was taken to the hospital.
  • At 12:54 a.m., a caller reported being assaulted by the bouncers at a Hanover Street bar.
  • At 1:26 a.m., police arrested Peter N. Masci Jr., 45, of 557 Sagamore Ave., Apt. 20 and charged him with driving while intoxicated and conduct after an accident. He allegedly hit a utility pole with his car.
