POLL: What Should Be Done with Yoken's Sign?

Iconic sign at former Lafayette Road restaurant and conference center is currently covered with a white tarp.

The former Yoken's restaurant and conference center closed in 2004 and the property on Lafayette Road will soon be redeveloped into several new retail and banking businesses.

But what should be done with the classic, iconic sign that greeted city residents and visitors for several decades before Yoken's closed? Should it preserved as a part of Portsmouth's history or as a piece of classic Americana?

Should the whale that spouted, "Thar she blows," for so many years simple be harpooned and discarded? Or should it remain at the site preserved for the public to enjoy?
