Portsmouth Man Fired Rifle into Another Apartment: Cops

Police arrest Adam Doyle tonight on gun charges after incident this morning on White Cedar Boulevard.

PORTSMOUTH, NH — A local man will be in court next month on gun charges after allegedly shooting a rifle into the air and into another apartment, according to police. Adam M. Doyle, 24, of White Cedar Boulevard in Portsmouth, was arrested on Sept. 7, 2016, and charged with unauthorized use of firearms and felony reckless conduct with a deadly weapon.

At 12:30 a.m. this morning, officers were sent to the boulevard for a report of a gun – a rifle – being fired into an apartment. Police investigated the scene this morning and into the day and reportedly developed Doyle as a suspect, according to Sgt. Eric Kinsman of the Portsmouth Police Department.

“An arrest warrant for Doyle and accompanying search warrant for his apartment was obtained and executed at 6 p.m. with the assistance of Portsmouth Police Detectives and Portsmouth Police K9 Max,” according to Kinsman. “Doyle was taken into custody without incident and processed at the Portsmouth Police Department.”

Doyle was released on cash and personal recognizance bail and is due to be arraigned in Portsmouth District Court on Oct. 24. Anyone with more information about the case is being asked to call Detective Kristyn Rogers-Bernier at 603-610-7529.
