Portsmouth Police Log: Loose Shorts Leads to Indecent Exposure Allegation

Plus, untimely death reported on Middle Road; "loud rock music" complaint issued on Marcy Street.

Recent incidents

  • 9 a.m. on Aug. 7, 2015: Portsmouth Fire and Rescue teams were called to Middle Road for a medical call. Upon arrival, H. Mason Tinker, a 29-year-old man from Rochester, was pronounced dead at the scene. The N.H. Office of the Medical Examiner has classified Tinker’s death as untimely. Anyone with information about Tinker is asked to contact Detective Scott Study at 603-610-7553.
  • 3:27 p.m. on Aug. 8: Police were called to the intersection of Middle and State streets for a lewd/indecent exposure allegation. A caller alleged that a man with “loose fitting shorts, so loose his penis was exposed,” was walking in the street. The man was described as in his late 40s, early 50s, with red shorts, a white shirt, and stringy beard, according to the report.
  • 10:02 p.m. on Aug. 8: A Marcy Street resident called police to complain about “loud rock music” coming from Partridge near the water. The caller requested that police tell them to “turn it down.” The noise, however, was coming from a house off Salter and Pray, according to police. “It is loud enough to be heard in the neighborhood,” according to the report. The officer noted that neither police nor fire had a contact for the building. Police will follow-up with the building owner in the future.
  • 2:06 a.m. on Aug. 9: A caller on Wedgewood Road complained about loud music and yelling coming from an address on Winsor Road. The caller stated that she was going back to sleep. Police spoke with the residents there who were “talking loud in the kitchen.” They closed their windows and were warned about noise.
