Portsmouth Police Log: Vermont Man Arrested for Loitering

Christopher R. Clough, 27, of Pleasant Street in Portsmouth, was arrested at 1:32 p.m. on Aug. 9, 2015, for theft by unauthorized taking or transfer. He turned himself in to police.

Jeffrey J. Steele Jr., 21, of Rochester Hill Road in Rochester, was arrested at 3:52 p.m. on Aug. 10, for driving after revocation or suspension and suspended registration. He was stopped on Greenleaf Avenue.

Stephanie Hablow, 37, of Old Amory Way in Kittery, ME, was arrested at 6:24 p.m. on Aug. 10, on driving after revocation or suspension and suspended registration.

Casey J. Wales, 29, of Swamp Road in South Ryegate, VT, was arrested at 9:12 p.m. on Aug. 10, for loitering and resisting arrest or detention. A caller reported seeing a homeless man outside of an apartment building door on the Route 1 Bypass just sitting there and requested an officer come to have him moved along, according to a report. There was a foot pursuit involved and the subject, Wales, allegedly refused to cede to the arrest. Later, police took him into custody. The report noted that he was put in a padded cell.
