Portsmouth Police Probe Alleged Sexual Assault Near Parking Garage
As of this morning, police have not charged any suspects and the investigation is ongoing.

The following is an excerpt from the Portsmouth Police log from Friday, June 3 through Sunday, June 5.
Friday:
- At 11:58 a.m., police reported that the Public Works Department spotted a cat that was frothing at the mouth on Greenleaf Avenue and still alive. The cat was brough to the New Hampshire S.P.C.A. in Stratham to be examined.
- At 1:47 p.m., police reported a car backed over a motorcycle in Market Square.
- At 4:14 p.m., police arrested a Rochester woman for operating a motor vehicle after being deemed a habitual offender following a motor vehicle stop at Cottage Street and Cate Street. Melissa Jane Varney, 31, of 88 Hansonville Road in Rochester was charged with that offense.
- At 9:36 p.m., police arrested a Kittery, Maine man who was acting strangely on State Street and then later at Market Square. Police said the man was upset because he lost custody of his child. Kabir H. Geiger, 32, of 54 Chauncy Creek Road in Kittery was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest or detention after he was transported to Portsmouth Regional Hospital for treatment.
- At 10:46 p.m., police arrested a Portsmouth man who was wanted as fugitive by the Epping Police Department. Nathan William McIntyre, 27, of 9 Weald Road in Portsmouth was arrested on a warrant.

- At 12:48 a.m., police investigated an alleged sexual assault that the victim said took place near the Hanover Street parking garage.
- At 4:15 p.m., police reported a single car accident on Route 33 and the Interstate-95 southbound ramp that caused a 22-year-old male driver to suffer a head injury. The accident also caused some damage to a guardrail on the east side of Route 33 and New Hampshire State Police were notified.
- At 1:42 p.m., police arrested a Portsmouth man as a fugitive. Daniel Mayo, 26, of 252 Dennett St. in Portmsouth was charged with simple assault and criminal threatening.
- At 1:43 p.m., police arrested a South Berwick, Maine, man for motor vehicle offenses. Lee Gerheart, 31, of 27 Blackmore Road in South Berwick was charged with driving after revocation or suspension of driver's license.
Sunday:
- At 1:22 a.m., police arrested a Portsmouth woman for motor vehicle offenses on Maplewood Avenue and Dennett Street. Delanae Sykes, 27, of 25 Weald Road in Portmouth was charged with driving after revocation or suspension of driver's license.
