Pro Portsmouth 2016 Children's Day Logo Unveiled

Congratulations to Amy Kindstedt, this year's logo artist winner; the event will be held on May 1.

PORTSMOUTH, NH - Pro Portsmouth unveiled the 2016 Children’s Day logo artist winner on April 13, 2016, at a press conference at Northeast Credit Union.

The winner is Amy Kindstedt, a student at Rye Elementary School, who submitted the attached logo to the org. Her artwork will be featured on volunteer T-shirts, the Children’s Day Map and Poster and the Pro Portsmouth website.

Children's Day takes play from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 1, 2016. The event begins when friends from Character Island arrive in Portsmouth at The Isles of Shoals Steamship Co.’s Dock parking lot. Activities abound from A to Z as all are invited to follow the Children’s Day map which takes them all over downtown where they can enjoy crafts, face painting, games and more. Entertainment takes place at the Block Party on Pleasant. This year’s schedule of performers includes Dan, the Puppet Man, Sammie Haynes and the Seacoast Civic Dance Company.

Children’s Day caps off a weekend that Pro Portsmouth and The Children’s Museum of NH are calling, Kids Take Over the Seacoast.

“We invite kids and their families to join us in Dover for the 5K and Fun Run on Saturday and head to Portsmouth on Sunday for Children’s Day,” noted Neva Cole, communications Director for the museum.

The museum’s 5K Road Race is the first in the 2016 Seacoast Road Race Series.

“Our relationship with the museum dates back years prior to their move and happily, we continue to collaborate through the Series,” stated Pro Portsmouth’s Executive Director, Barbara Massar.

The Children’s Day map will available at the event on May 1st and can be downloaded/printed on the Pro Portsmouth website proportsmouth.org/CDmap.cfm
