Rye Man Charged with Simple Assault, Bail Jumping

Portsmouth Police supplied the following arrest information.

The following is an excerpt from the Portsmouth Police log from Thursday, Sept. 13 through Saturday, Sept. 15.

Thursday:

  • At 11:39 a.m., police reported a fraud complaint on Islington Street after the caller said her sister took $34,000 from their late father's account.
  • At 12:52 p.m., police reported a walk-in identity theft complaint.
  • At 2:07 p.m., police arrested a Barrington woman who was wanted as a fugitive from justice on Andrew Jarvis Drive. Katlynn Moore, 18, of 20 James Henry Drive in Barrington was wanted on a bench warrant.
  • At 11:22 p.m., police reported criminal mischief on Islington Street after the caller said some kids had egged her car.

  • At 1:42 a.m., police arrested an Exeter man for drunken driving on the Route 1 Bypass northbound and Greenleaf Avenue. Chase Wentworth, 19, of 48 Hampton Falls in Exeter was charged with driving while intoxicated.
  • At 11:15 a.m., police arrested a Rye man who was wanted as a fugitive from justice after he turned himself in at the police station. Thomas Joseph Lynch, 54, of 45 Marsh Road in Rye was wanted for two counts of simple assault and default or breach of bail conditions.
  • At 5:42 p.m., police reported a burglary on Raleigh Way after the caller said someone had broken into her house during the day.

Saturday:

  • At 2:58 a.m., police arrested a Manchester man for drunken driving on Route 33 and Grafton Drive. Justin M. Laferriere, 23, of 230 Wilmot St. in Manchester was charged with driving while intoxicated.
  • At 6:46 a.m., police reported an animal call on Peirce Island after the caller said a seagull was stuck in the outdoor pool fence. Police also reported that someone managed to free the bird.
  • At 9:23 a.m., police reported criminal mischief on Martha Terrace after the caller said someone threw a brick through the driver's side window of their car.
  • At 10:26 a.m., police reported criminal mischief on Islington Street after the caller reported grafitti on a building that had been spray painted sometime over night.
  • At 2:56 p.m., police arrested a Sanbornville man who was wanted as a fugitive from justice after he turned himself in at the police station. David G. Takis, 31, of 31 Balsam Drive in Sanbornville was wanted for criminal mischief (vandalism).
  • Also at 2:56 p.m., police reported the theft of a giant Iguana mountain bike on Wibird Street.
  • At 10:16 p.m., police reported a theft of services at a State Street restaurant after the caller said a customer failed to pay for $137 of food and drinks.
