State Sens. Martha Fuller Clark, D-Portsmouth, and Dan Feltes, D-Concord applaud the passage of Senate Bill 170, which will provide more pricing information to customers and ensure consumer protection in a competitive market, according to a press statement.
SB 170, which was sponsored by a bipartisan group of senators, passed the Senate on a unanimous 24-0 vote.
“This legislation is a significant step forward in greater transparency and gives residential electric consumers the information they need to make informed spending decisions,” said Fuller Clark, member of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee. “We are pleased to see that the Senate unanimously passed this bipartisan measure to help tens of thousands of electric consumers in the state.”

“Too often residential electric customers, many of whom are seniors on fixed incomes, are getting caught flat-footed in the competitive electric market,” added Feltes. “Many Granite Staters are getting blindsided with unfair and deceptive adjustable rates and other misleading practices. This bill provides residential customers reasonable and needed protections.”
