Five Charged with DWI at Portsmouth Checkpoint

It was held on the Spaulding Turnpike.

State police charged five people with DWI during a checkpoint in Portsmouth Friday night.

The checkpoint was held on the Spaulding Turnpike. Police stopped 421 vehicles from 10 p.m. Friday through 2 a.m. Saturday.

The following people were charged with DWI:

  • Charles E. Bousquin, 51, of Middleton
  • Jessica K. Bland, 39, of Suffield, Conn.
  • Dean F. Comisky, 63, of Dover
  • Alexis Mason, 37, of Dover 
  • Jarmain Gardner, 42, of Dover
C. Andrew Frangos, 26, of Lee, was also charged with reckless operation.

A Rockingham County Superior Court judge approved the checkpoint, police said.

Such checkpoints are held in Portsmouth a few times a year, typically yielding at least several arrests each time.

The six people arrested in this week's checkpoint are scheduled to appear at Portsmouth District Court next month.
