SWAT Team, Police Presence Reported On Kearsarge Way

Update: A standoff between Portsmouth Police and a SWAT team has ended.

PORTSMOUTH, NH — The Portsmouth Police Department is asking the public to avoid the area near and around Kearsarge Way, at this time, according to posts on social media. At just before 3 p.m. on Feb. 23, 2018, police requested residents to avoid the area, if possible. The area that is blocked is near Atlantic Heights, according to Rockingham Alert.

WHDH-TV reported parts of the area were blocked off and a SWAT team was in place, according to a post online.

At just after 3:30 p.m., according to WMUR-TV, the standoff has ended and emergency crews left the area. Police also confirmed on social media that the standoff had ended.
