Take a 'swing' for charity at New Heights' Golf Tournament
Annual charity event helps transform lives
Early-bird registration is open for the 11th Annual New Heights Golf Tournament to be held September 15 at Portsmouth Country Club. In addition to 18 holes of golf on one of the Seacoast’s premier golf venues, the popular annual event includes great giveaways and contests, excellent pace of play, delicious lunch. Most importantly, tournament proceeds benefit New Heights programs and scholarships for 5th through 12th youth.
Programming supported by the annual charity golf tournament includes Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math (STEAM) and Adventure & Leadership activities. Working in increasingly close partnership with area schools, New Heights develops programs and services that research has shown as effective in helping youth develop critical, sustaining life-skills.
“Our golf tournament is a chance for community members and sponsors to come together and show their support for kids and families that depend on our programs,” said New Heights Executive Director Tracey Tucker.
In the past several years, New Heights has also worked very hard to include low to moderate income youth who would not have been able to participate in its programs.
“We awarded over $75,000 in scholarships last year alone,” added Tucker. “Our tournament is a special opportunity to meet others in the community equally committed to the future of our youth. “We want to thank our Golf Committee members and the companies they represent for their years of hard work and commitment to the community, including Ellis Insurance, Fishnet Media, Mortgage Master, and Mass Mutual of Northern New England.
